I don’t recall whether I had warned Lucy that I had also agreed to chaperone a dozen eighth grade students from the Colegio Metodista. The fourteen of us boarded the trolley in San Pedro, which took us downtown to the Teatro Nacional; then after the opera we returned to San Pedro with the students, where parents were waiting for them. After that, Lucy and I walked to the city park and delighted in the silvery moonlight silhouetting the tall palm trees gently swaying in the evening breeze.
